Nakon lansiranja u studenom NASA \u0107e u rujnu 2022. testirati tehnologiju skretanja putanje asteroida kako bi vidjela mo\u017ee li utjecati na nebeska tijela koja prolaze blizu Zemlje.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Stru\u010dnjaci namjeravaju poku\u0161ati skrenuti putanju Dimorphosa, satelita koji kru\u017ei oko asteroida Didimos. Ovo bi trebala biti prva stvarna demonstracija ove vrste tehnologije u ime obrane planeta, pi\u0161e CNN.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><span class=\"has-inline-color has-luminous-vivid-orange-color\">NEO &#8211; objekt koji prolazi blizu Zemlje<\/span><\/strong><br><br>Objekti koji prolaze blizu Zemlje (eng. near-Earth object, NEO), poput asteroida ili kometa, \u010desto projure relativno blizu na\u0161eg planeta, a mediji su skloni pretjerati s izjavama o njihovoj opasnosti samo na temelju toga \u0161to su svrstani u kategorije PHO i NEO, koje su zvu\u010dnog imena. No \u0161to te kategorije uop\u0107e zna\u010de?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">NEO je svaki objekt koji u blizini Sunca pro\u0111e na udaljenosti manjoj od 1,3 AJ (AU, astronomska jedinica). AJ ozna\u010dava okvirnu udaljenost Zemlje od na\u0161e zvijezde i iznosi 150 milijuna kilometara. To zna\u010di da se radi o tijelima koja \u0107e pro\u0107i blizu na\u0161eg planeta u relativnom smislu. Primjerice, neki asteroid kategorije NEO mo\u017ee pro\u0107i unutar udaljenosti od 6.3 milijuna kilometara od na\u0161eg planeta, \u0161to je zapravo dosta daleko. Za usporedbu, Mjesec je od nas u prosjeku udaljen 384.400 kilometara.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Potencijalno opasan objekt (PHO) je ono svemirsko tijelo \u010diji je promjer ve\u0107i od 140 metara i koje od Zemlje prolazi na udaljenosti 0,05 AJ (7.500.000 km) ili manjoj.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><span class=\"has-inline-color has-luminous-vivid-orange-color\">Didimos i Dimorphos<\/span><\/strong><br><br>Znanstvenici su prije dva desetlje\u0107a otkrili da oko asteroida kategorije NEO kru\u017ei mali satelit koji je na po\u010detku imao naziv Didimos b. Na gr\u010dkom Didimos zna\u010di &#8220;blizanac&#8221;, a njime se htjelo opisati binarni sustav s ve\u0107im asteroidom, veli\u010dine skoro 800 metara, oko kojeg kru\u017ei tijelo promjera oko 160 metara.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kleomenis Tsiganis, planetarni znanstvenik sa Sveu\u010dili\u0161ta Aristotel u Solunu i \u010dlan misije DART, predlo\u017eio je da se mjesec nazove Dimorphos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Dimorphos zna\u010di &#8216;dva oblika&#8217;, a ukazivat \u0107e na status ovog objekta kao prvog nebeskog tijela kojemu je \u010dovje\u010danstvo zna\u010dajno utjecalo na oblik njegove orbite&#8221;, rekao je Tsiganis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">U rujnu 2022. godine Didimos i Dimorfos bit \u0107e relativno blizu Zemlje, odnosno unutar 11 milijuna kilometara od na\u0161eg planeta. DART bi se tada trebao zabiti u Dimorphos kako bi promijenio njegovu putanju.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ovaj sudar trebao bi pratiti satelit LICIACube koji je osigurala Talijanska svemirska agencija. Nakon \u0161to pro\u0111e nekoliko godina od udara, misija Europske svemirske agencije Hera provest \u0107e daljnju analizu putanja Didimosa i Dimorphosa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;DART je prvi korak u testiranju metode za skretanje opasnih asteroida&#8221;, rekla je Andrea Riley, izvr\u0161na direktorica programa DART.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Potencijalno opasni asteroidi predstavljaju globalni problem i drago nam je \u0161to na prikupljanju \u0161to to\u010dnijih podataka ove demonstracije otklona kineti\u010dkog udara sura\u0111ujemo s na\u0161im talijanskim i europskim kolegama&#8221;, dodala je.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><span class=\"has-inline-color has-luminous-vivid-orange-color\">Va\u017eno za obranu na\u0161eg planeta<\/span><\/strong><br><br>DART bi trebao prilikom sudara s Dimorphosom promijeniti njegovu brzinu orbite oko Didimosa za 1%, \u0161to ne zvu\u010di previ\u0161e &#8211; ali bi to trebalo izmijeniti njegovo orbitalno razdoblje za nekoliko minuta. Tu promjenu brzine mo\u0107i \u0107emo mjeriti i promatrati s teleskopa na Zemlji.
