Oni imaju masu najmanje 10.000 puta ve\u0107u od mase na\u0161eg Sunca te imaju promjer od oko 15 do 650 svjetlosnih godina. Mike Grudi\u0107 iz Istra\u017eiva\u010dkog instituta Carnegie Observatories u Kaliforniji i njegovi kolege uspjeli su rasvijetliti misterije izvode\u0107i jednu od najnaprednijih simulacija divovskih molekularnih oblaka do sada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nadovezuju\u0107i se na prethodne studije u sklopu projekta STARFORGE, Grudi\u0107 i njegov tim su prvi put razvili DMO simulaciju koja uklju\u010duje sve glavne mehanizme fizi\u010dke povratne sprege \u2013 poput zvjezdanih vjetrova, magnetskih polja te gravitacije.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Njihova simulacija po\u010dinje s oblakom koji ima po\u010detnu masu 20.000 puta ve\u0107u od na\u0161eg Sunca i promjer od 65 svjetlosnih godina.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Odabrali smo ga da bude reprezentativan za formiranje zvijezda danas u blizini Sunca, dakle na\u0161ih vlastitih galakti\u010dkih susjeda. Vjerojatno je to reprezentativno za to kako se samo Sunce formiralo u na\u0161oj galaksiji, ka\u017ee Grudi\u0107.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kako simulacija napreduje, nastaju svjetlije i masivnije zvijezde, koje zauzvrat emitiraju zra\u010denje i zvjezdane vjetrove koji prolaze kroz DMO. Simulacija koju mo\u017eete vidjeti u videu predstavlja vremenski period od devet milijuna godina, a zavr\u0161ava ubrzo nakon \u0161to je jedna od prvih zvijezda koju je formirao oblak eksplodirala u supernovi. U tih devet milijuna godina ro\u0111eno je otprilike 1000 zvijezda u simulaciji.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jedno od iznena\u0111enja koje smo vidjeli je da zvijezde mogu zahtijevati dosta vremena za formiranje, ka\u017ee Grudi\u0107.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Grudi\u0107 i njegov tim otkrili su da formiranje masivne zvijezde, one koje su vi\u0161e od 10 puta ve\u0107e od mase na\u0161eg Sunca, mo\u017ee potrajati \u010dak tri milijuna godina i u prosjeku oko milijun godina, \u0161to je za red veli\u010dine du\u017ee nego \u0161to se dosad mislilo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Grudi\u0107 se sad nada da ova simulacija mo\u017ee poslu\u017eiti za detaljnije razlu\u010divanje zvjezdane evolucije nego \u0161to je to prije bilo mogu\u0107e.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Primjerice, taj se model mo\u017ee koristiti za pra\u0107enje zvijezde unatrag kako bi se vidjelo odakle je izvorno do\u0161la njezina masa.
