Kad je kona\u010dno bio spreman za prikupljanje podataka, kontrolori misije uperili su njegova zrcala u supernovu nazvanu Kasiopeja A &#8211; \u017eivopisne ostatke zvijezde u obliku plina u oblaku koja je eksplodirala u 17. stolje\u0107u.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Prva slika objavljena je u ponedjeljak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Oblak plina \u0161irok je oko 10 svjetlosnih godina. U vidljivom svjetlu, zapravo ne svijetli zadivljuju\u0107om ljubi\u010dastom bojom prikazanom. To je boja koju su NASA-ini istra\u017eiva\u010di odabrali kako bi prikazali koliko je mo\u0107no rendgensko svjetlo u razli\u010ditim dijelovima oblaka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Na donjoj slici koristili su \u0161iri raspon boja kako bi prikazali varijacije u X-zrakama.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/otpor.media\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/nasa-180222.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-20248\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kada je zvijezda eksplodirala, njezini udarni valovi pregrijali su plin u njezinoj blizini i ubrzali obli\u017enje \u010destice, uzrokuju\u0107i da svijetli jako u rendgenskom svjetlu. Negdje u sredi\u0161tu tih plinskih oblaka, nalazi se gusti objekt koji je nastao kada se jezgra biv\u0161e zvijezde sru\u0161ila. To bi mogla biti crna rupa ili neutronska zvijezda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">IXPE \u0107e provesti najmanje dvije godine prou\u010davaju\u0107i najekstremnije i najtajnovitije objekte u svemiru &#8211; maglice, supernove, neutronske zvijezde i crne rupe. To je prvi NASA-in veliki rendgenski svemirski teleskop otkako je rendgenski opservatorij Chandra lansiran u orbitu 1999. godine. Prva slika tog teleskopa tako\u0111er je snimila Kasiopeju A.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">IXPE slika Kasiopeje A povijesna je kao i Chandra slika istog ostatka supernove &#8211; rekao je Martin C. Weisskopf, koji vodi IXPE tim u NASA-i.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To pokazuje potencijal IXPE-a da dobije nove, nikad prije vi\u0111ene informacije o Kasiopeji A, koja je trenutno u analizi &#8211; govori.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Za razliku od Chandre, IXPE se fokusira na polarizaciju &#8211; smjer u koji se usmjeravaju valovi rendgenskog svjetla dok putuju kroz svemir. Te informacije mogu znanstvenicima puno re\u0107i o tome kako nastaju X-zrake i omogu\u0107iti im da vide kako se zra\u010denje razlikuje po objektu koji prou\u010davaju.
