Osim toga, atmosfera je izuzetno tanka i hladna, a voda ne mo\u017ee postojati na povr\u0161ini u bilo kojem obliku osim leda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ali kao \u0161to potvr\u0111uju krajolik Marsa i drugi dokazi, Mars je neko\u0107 bio sasvim druga\u010dije mjesto, s toplijom, gu\u0161\u0107om atmosferom i teku\u0107om vodom na povr\u0161ini. Godinama su znanstvenici poku\u0161avali utvrditi koliko su dugo prirodna tijela postojala na Marsu i jesu li bila povremena ili postojana. Drugo va\u017eno pitanje je koliko je Mars nekada imao vode i je li to bilo dovoljno za \u017eivot. Prema novoj studiji me\u0111unarodnog tima planetarnih znanstvenika, Mars je prije 4,5 milijardi godina mo\u017eda imao dovoljno vode da ga pokrije u globalnom oceanu dubine do 300 metara. Zajedno s organskim molekulama i drugim elementima koji su u to vrijeme distribuirani asteroidima i kometima kroz Sun\u010dev sustav, tvrde oni, ovi uvjeti ukazuju na to da je Mars mo\u017eda bio prvi planet u Sun\u010devom sustavu na kojem postoji \u017eivot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-luminous-vivid-amber-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Kakav je Mars bio<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Studiju su proveli istra\u017eiva\u010di s Instituta de Physique du Globe de Paris (IPGP) Sveu\u010dili\u0161ta u Parizu, Centra za formiranje zvijezda i planeta Sveu\u010dili\u0161ta u Kopenhagenu (StarPlan), Instituta za geokemiju i petrologiju (GeoPetro) na ETH Z\u00fcrich, i Institut za fiziku Sveu\u010dili\u0161ta u Bernu. Rad koji opisuje njihovo istra\u017eivanje i otkri\u0107a nedavno se pojavio u \u010dasopisu Science Advances. Kako navode u svom radu, zemaljski planeti pretrpjeli su razdoblje zna\u010dajnih udara asteroida nakon njihovog formiranja prije vi\u0161e od 4,5 milijardi godina. Vjeruje se da su ti utjecaji na\u010din na koji su se voda i gra\u0111evni blokovi za \u017eivot (organske molekule) distribuirali po Sun\u010devom sustavu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Me\u0111utim, jo\u0161 uvijek se raspravlja o ulozi ovog razdoblja u evoluciji stjenovitih planeta u unutra\u0161njosti Sun\u010devog sustava &#8211; posebno kada je u pitanju distribucija hlapljivih elemenata poput vode. Za potrebe svoje studije, me\u0111unarodni tim izvijestio je o varijabilnosti jednog izotopa kroma (54Cr) u marsovskim meteoritima koji datiraju iz tog ranog razdoblja. Ti su meteoriti u to vrijeme bili dio Marsove kore i izba\u010deni su zbog udara asteroida koji ih je poslao u svemir. Drugim rije\u010dima, sastav ovih meteorita predstavlja izvornu koru Marsa prije nego \u0161to su asteroidi talo\u017eili vodu i razne elemente na povr\u0161inu. Budu\u0107i da Mars nema aktivnu tektoniku plo\u010da poput Zemlje, povr\u0161ina nije podlo\u017ena stalnoj konvekciji i recikliranju. Stoga meteoriti izba\u010deni s Marsa prije vi\u0161e milijardi godina nude jedinstveni uvid u to kakav je Mars bio nedugo nakon formiranja planeta Sun\u010devog sustava.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-luminous-vivid-amber-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Hipoteza o velikom udaru<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kao \u0161to je koautor profesor Bizzarro iz StarPlan centra rekao u priop\u0107enju za tisak fakulteta UCPH: &#8220;Tektonika plo\u010da na Zemlji izbrisala je sve dokaze o tome \u0161to se dogodilo u prvih 500 milijuna godina povijesti na\u0161eg planeta. Plo\u010de se neprestano pomi\u010du i recikliraju natrag i uni\u0161tavaju u unutra\u0161njost na\u0161eg planeta. Nasuprot tome, Mars nema tektoniku plo\u010da takvu da povr\u0161ina planeta \u010duva zapise o najranijoj povijesti planeta.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mjerenjem varijabilnosti 54Cr u tim meteoritima, tim je procijenio stopu udara Marsa prije otprilike 4,5 milijardi godina i koliko su vode isporu\u010dili. Prema njihovim rezultatima, bilo bi dovoljno vode da pokrije cijeli planet u oceanu dubine najmanje 300 metara i do 1 kilometra u nekim podru\u010djima. Za usporedbu, na Zemlji je u to vrijeme bilo vrlo malo vode jer se objekt veli\u010dine Marsa sudario sa Zemljom, \u0161to je dovelo do formiranja Mjeseca (hipoteza o velikom udaru). Osim vode, asteroidi su tako\u0111er distribuirali organske molekule poput aminokiselina (gra\u0111evni blokovi DNK, RNK i proteinskih stanica) na Mars tijekom kasnog te\u0161kog bombardiranja.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kao \u0161to je Bizarro objasnio, to zna\u010di da je \u017eivot mogao postojati na Marsu kada je Zemlja bila sterilna: &#8220;Ovo se dogodilo unutar prvih 100 milijuna godina Marsa. Nakon tog razdoblja dogodilo se ne\u0161to katastrofalno za potencijalni \u017eivot na Zemlji. Vjeruje se da je do\u0161lo do gigantskog sudara izme\u0111u Zemlje i drugog planeta veli\u010dine Marsa. Bio je to energetski sudar koji je formirao sustav Zemlja-Mjesec i, u isto vrijeme, izbrisao sav potencijalni \u017eivot na Zemlji.&#8221; Ova je studija sli\u010dna nedavnom istra\u017eivanju koje je koristilo omjere deuterija i vodika Marsovih meteorita za stvaranje modela atmosferske evolucije. Njihova otkri\u0107a pokazala su da je Mars mo\u017eda bio prekriven oceanima dok je Zemlja jo\u0161 bila rastopljena kamena lopta.
