Budu\u0107i da bi silicij \u010destice u\u010dinio lak\u0161im od okolnog teku\u0107eg \u017eeljeza, materijal bi mogao istjecati prema pla\u0161tu, dakle prema gore i talo\u017eiti se u nanosima koji uzrokuju izobli\u010denje zvu\u010dnih valova na nepredvidive na\u010dine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Ako su silicij i vodik dva glavna laka elementa u najudaljenijoj jezgri s odgovaraju\u0107om zastupljeno\u0161\u0107u, mo\u017ee do\u0107i do takvog uzdi\u017eu\u0107eg snijega bogatog silicijem&#8221;, ka\u017ee geoznanstvenik Suyu Fu, sa Sveu\u010dili\u0161ta u Tokiju u Japanu. Kako bi to testirali, tim je u laboratoriju rekreirao uvjete unutar Zemljine vanjske jezgre. Legura \u017eeljeza i silicija stavljena je u plin vodik-argon prije nego \u0161to je ultrakomprimirana unutar \u0107elije dijamantnog nakovnja. Znanstvenici su uspjeli prevladati problem s prethodnim eksperimentima, u kojima bi visoke temperature uzrokovale difuziju vodika koji je sadr\u017eavao leguru \u017eeljeza. &#8220;Na\u0161 tim je razvio novu metodu u kojoj se vodik mije\u0161a s argonom u \u0107elijama dijamantnog nakovnja&#8221;, ka\u017ee geoznanstvenik Sang-Heon Dan Shim sa Sveu\u010dili\u0161ta Arizona State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-luminous-vivid-orange-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Vrlo va\u017eno otkri\u0107e<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Argon ne reagira s uzorkom, ali potiskuje difuziju vodika u dijamantne nakovnje, \u0161to nam omogu\u0107uje postizanje ekstremnih uvjeta u laboratoriju.&#8221; Pod tim sli\u010dnim uvjetima tlaka i temperature kao u vanjskoj jezgri Zemlje, istra\u017eiva\u010di su otkrili da bi se &#8220;snijeg&#8221; kristalita bogat silicijem mogao formirati i uzdizati kroz gu\u0161\u0107e teku\u0107e \u017eeljezo da bi se akumulirao na granici pla\u0161ta i vanjske jezgre, vjerojatno uzrokuju\u0107i neke od anomalija koje su primijetili znanstvenici dok su skenirali najdublje dijelove planeta. Iako mo\u017eda mislite da nama gore na Zemljinoj povr\u0161ini ni\u0161ta od ovoga nije previ\u0161e va\u017eno, kretanje vanjske jezgre pokre\u0107e magnetsko polje na\u0161eg planeta, koje nas zauzvrat \u0161titi od utjecaja tro\u0161enja svemira i sun\u010devog vremena.
