AI je pomogao suziti tisu\u0107e potencijalnih kemikalija na svega nekoliko za testiranje u laboratoriju. Rezultat je ispao potentni, eksperimentalni antibiotik zvan abaucin, kojemu \u0107e trebati daljnja testiranja prije nego \u0161to se po\u010dne koristiti.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Istra\u017eiva\u010di u Kanadi i SAD-u ka\u017eu da AI ima mo\u0107 uvelike ubrzati otkri\u0107e novih lijekova. To je posljednji u nizu primjera kako alati umjetne inteligencije mogu biti revolucionarna snaga u znanosti i medicini.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Antibiotici ubijaju bakterije, no nedostatak je novih lijekova ve\u0107 desetlje\u0107ima, a bakterije postaje sve te\u017ee lije\u010diti, kako stvaraju otpor na postoje\u0107e lijekove. Godi\u0161nje umre vi\u0161e od milijun ljudi od infekcija koje odolijevaju lije\u010denju antibioticima.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-luminous-vivid-orange-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Jedna od najproblemati\u010dnijih bakterija<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Istra\u017eiva\u010di su se fokusirali na jednu od najproblemati\u010dnijih vrsta bakterija \u2013 Acinetobacter baumannii \u2013 koja mo\u017ee inficirati rane i uzrokovati upalu plu\u0107a. Radi se o jednoj od tri superbakterije koje je Svjetska zdravstvena organizacija identificirala kao \u201ckriti\u010dnu\u201d prijetnju. \u010cesto ne reagira na razne antibiotike i problem je za bolnice i stara\u010dke domove, gdje mo\u017ee pre\u017eivjeti na povr\u0161inama i medicinskoj opremi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lije\u010dnik Jonathan Stokes, sa sveu\u010dili\u0161ta McMaster, opisuje bakteriju kao \u201cjavnog neprijatelja broj jedan\u201d i ka\u017ee kako je vrlo \u010desto otporna na gotovo svaki antibiotik.
